Am 29.06. wollen wir wieder mit euch kochen! Wir wollen noch etwas an der Außenküche arbeiten, die wir im Rahmen des Ehrenamtstags in Eberswalde mit viel Unterstützung bauen konnten. Gleichzeitig kochen wir gemeinsam ein bis zwei Gerichte und machen es uns wieder gemütlich am Waldcampus.

Ab 17 Uhr geht es los, neben Haus 10 in der Alfred-Möller-Straße 1, Eberswalde

On 29.06. we want to cook with you again! We want to work a little on the outdoor kitchen, which we were able to build with a lot of support during the Volunteer Day in Eberswalde. At the same time we will cook one or two dishes together and make ourselves comfortable again at the Waldcampus.

Starting at 5 p.m., next to house 10 in Alfred-Möller-Straße 1, Eberswalde.

Logbook 17.06.2022

Unser letzter Transport wurde am Freitag, den 17. Juni, durchgeführt. Es begann wieder mit mehreren Einkäufen von Material und Lebensmitteln in und um Eberswalde und online, einer neuen Kooperation mit und durch die Spende des Bundes deutscher Forstleute und mit der Sortierung der Sachspenden am Waldcampus der HNEE. Vielen Dank für alle Helfenden und Spendenden! 
Dann ging der Transport los. Am Samstag früh erreichten die zwei Fahrer, die extra aus Stralsund nach Eberswalde gekommen waren, die polnisch-ukrainische Grenze. Da der Hilfstransport trotzdem in der LKW-Schlange warten musste, lagen mehr als 13 Stunden Wartezeit vor den Fahrern. Am Ende ging aber alles gut und die Hilfsgüter konnten an unsere Kooperationspartner ForestCom aus Lviv übergeben werden. Wir sind der dankbar für all die Unterstützung und das Wohlwollen!

Our latest transport was conducted on Friday, 17th of June. It started again with several purchases of material and food in and around Eberswalde and online, a new cooperation with and through the donation of the Association of German Foresters and with the sorting of the donations in kind at the forest campus of the HNEE. Many thanks for all helping and donating! 
Then the transport started. On Saturday morning, the two drivers, who had come especially from Stralsund to Eberswalde, reached the Polish-Ukrainian border. Since the transport of relief supplies still had to wait in the truck queue, more than 13 hours of waiting time lay ahead of the drivers. In the end, however, everything went well and the relief supplies could be handed over to our cooperation partners ForestCom from Lviv. We are grateful for all the support and goodwill!

Logbook 11.06.2022

Beim Tag der offenen Tür der Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswalde hatten wir einen Stand der Support Ukraine Initiative. Vielen Dank an Alle, die an diesem Tag dabei sein konnten und vielen Dank für alle Gespräche und lieben Worten. Unsere Kollegin der ForestCom Organisation in Lviv war auch dabei. 
An diesem Tag wurde auch der Engagementpreis 2022 der Eberswalder Hochschulgesellschaft an die Support-Ukraine-Initiative verliehen. Wir haben uns sehr über diese Wertschätzung und Anerkennung unserer Arbeit gefreut. Wir gratulieren auch Milan Touché zum Publikumspreis und allen Nominierten und bedanken uns bei der Eberswalder Hochschulgesellschaft für ihre Arbeit.  

At the open day of the University for Sustainable Development Eberswalde we had a booth of the Support Ukraine Initiative. Many thanks to all who could be present on this day and thank you for all the conversations and kind words. Our colleague from the ForestCom organization in Lviv was also there. 
On this day also the Engagement Award 2022 of the Eberswalde University Society was awarded to the Support Ukraine Initiative. We were very happy about this appreciation and recognition of our work. We also congratulate Milan Touché for the audience award and all nominees and thank the Eberswalde University Society for their work.  

Das Housing Team der Initiative 

Wir, derzeit 5 Menschen sind eine Teilgruppe der Initiative, die Angebote von privaten Unterkünften mit Anfragen von Menschen, die aus der Ukraine fliehen, in Eberswalde (manchmal auch in Berlin) zusammenbringen. Durch die hohe Hilfsbereitschaft der Menschen hier ist es möglich Unterkünfte von 2 Wochen bis 3 Monate und manchmal auch unbefristet zu vermitteln. Hier hat die Initiative zu Beginn des Angriffskriegs eine Umfrage rumgeschickt, wo Menschen angeben konnten, wie sie die Initiative unterstützen können. So haben wir eine lange Liste an Menschen, die angegeben haben, für eine gewisse Zeit Menschen aufnehmen zu können. 

Von Beginn an haben wir mit der privaten Unterbringung sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Fast immer konnten wir für die Anfragen – zumeist Menschen, die wir aus den Kooperationsprojekten aus der Uni kennen, aber auch Menschen, die über Kontakte auf uns Aufmerksam wurden – innerhalb weniger Stunden eine Unterkunft finden. Die Bereitschaft der Menschen sehr spontan ihre Zimmer frei zu räumen und Menschen einen Ort der Ruhe zu geben, ist immer wieder wundervoll mitzubekommen. Sehr oft war es am Ende so, dass die Menschen länger in den Wohnungen bleiben konnten als gedacht und immer mal wieder haben sich über Kontakte der Hosts auch Mitwohnungen finden können. 

Seit Ende Februar konnten wir so ca. 60 Personen in Eberswalde und Berlin eine Unterkunft organisieren und ihnen zusätzlich mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehen. Es wurde eine Telegramm Gruppe für die Aufnehmenden und für die Ankommenden eröffnet, wo wir aktuelle Informationen an alle weitergeben und sich die Menschen untereinander austauschen können. Denn zu Beginn war es natürlich noch unklar, wo Menschen sich bei der Stadt/ beim Landkreis melden müssen/können, welche Unterstützung private Haushalte für ihre Bereitschaft bekommen und vieles mehr. Auch die Lage für Menschen, die aus Drittstaaten sind und in der Ukraine gelebt und gearbeitet/studiert haben, ist immer wieder Thema und bis jetzt leider immer noch nicht zufriedenstellend gelöst. Hier versuchen wir den Menschen soweit es uns möglich ist zu helfen, und sie mit Organisationen zu verbinden, die für ihre Lage auf dem aktuellen Stand sind. Für einige Studierende aus Drittstaaten von Partneruniversitäten in der Ukraine hat das Internationale Büro der HNEE jedoch sehr tolle Arbeit geleistet und es möglich gemacht, dass ein paar von ihnen sich direkt in internationale Studiengänge einschreiben konnten. 

Als Team versuchen wir uns nun auf das Vermitteln von Mietwohnungen zu fokussieren. Denn verständlicherweise sind die privaten Unterkünfte nicht auf Jahre angedacht. Hier stoßen wir aber immer wieder auf Probleme, da es immer wieder der Rücksprache mit den offiziellen Stellen benötigt und so natürlich auch der Prozess bis zum Mietabschluss länger dauert als bei Menschen, die nicht vom Staat unterstützt werden. Aber wir arbeiten daran unsere Gruppe noch besser aufzustellen und so Menschen eine langfristige Wohnperspektive zu ermöglichen.

The Housing Team of the Initiative 

We, currently 5 people, are a sub-group of the initiative, which brings together offers of private accommodation with requests from people fleeing Ukraine in Eberswalde and sometimes also in Berlin. Due to the high willingness of people to help, it is possible to arrange accommodations from 2 weeks to 3 months and sometimes indefinitely. Here the initiative sent around a survey at the beginning of the war of aggression, where people could indicate how they could support the initiative. So, we have a list of people who indicated they could host people for a certain period of time. 

From the beginning, we have had very good experiences with private accommodation. Almost always we were able to find accommodation for the requests within a few hours. The people were mostly those we know from the cooperation projects with Ukraine trough the university, but also people who came to our attention through other contacts. The willingness of people to spontaneously vacate their rooms and give people a place to rest is always wonderful to witness. Very often, people ended up staying in the apartments longer than expected and every now and then, through contacts and the effort of the hosts, it was possible to get rental contracts.

Since the end of February, we have been able to organize accommodation for about 60 people in Eberswalde and Berlin and provide them with additional advice and support. A telegram group was opened for the hosts and for the arrivals, where we can pass on current information to everyone and where people can exchange information with each other. This helped a lot, as, in the beginning, it was of course still unclear where people have to/can register with the city/county, what support private households get for their readiness and much more. Also, the situation for people who are from third countries and have lived and worked/studied in Ukraine is a recurring topic and until now unfortunately still not satisfactorily solved. Here we try to help people as much as we can and connect them with organizations that are up to date with their situation. However, for some third country students from partner universities in Ukraine, the International Office of HNEE has done a great job and made it possible for some of them to enroll directly in international study programs. 

As a team, we are now trying to focus on arranging rental housing. Because, understandably, the private accommodations are not intended to last for years. But here we always run into problems, because it always requires consultation with the official agencies and so of course the process to the rental agreement takes longer than for people who are not supported by the state. But we are working on setting up our group even better and thus enabling people to have a long-term housing perspective.

Logbook 10.05.2022

We are deeply grateful for the support we experienced to be able to support our partners in Ukraine. So far, most of the donations have been used to purchase medicines and food, which have been transported to our partners in several shipments for further distribution.
Wir sind sehr dankbar für die Unterstützung, die wir erfahren haben, um unsere Partner in der Ukraine unterstützen zu können. Der größte Anteil der Spendengelder wurde bisher für den Kauf von Medikamenten und Nahrungsmitteln verwendet, welche in mehreren Transporten zu unseren Partner*innen gebracht und dort weiterverteilt wurden.

Another transport to our partner in Lviv was organized after the orthodox easter. Donations of kinds, especially spring and summer clothes, as well as water and medical equipment was delivered on Monday, April 26. We thank everyone for donating clothes, and thank the crew for offering their help before and during the transport.

Various groceries including canned meat, fish, veggies and more have been transported successfully to our friends and cooperating NGO ForestCom in Lviv by Ole. This was made possible with your donations. Thank you very much!

Logbook 01.04.2022

Our latest transport was conducted on Friday, 1st of April. One car (coordinated and supported by saloodo) delivered medical equipment to our partner ForestCom in Lviv. They distribute the goods into the regions Chernihiv, Donetsk, Luhansk and others. They have also started to sew first aid kits. So far they produced over 60 kits, that are now filled with the medical equipment delivered from Eberswalde. Thanks again to everyone contributing on making this support possible!

Logbook 10.03.2022

On 10.03. five vans and one truck left for the Polish-Ukrainian border to hand over the relief supplies to the Forest Com organization. The handover took place on 11.03. We thank all who made this transport possible by supporting us!

Am 10.03. sind fünf Kleintransporter und ein LKW in Richtung polnisch-ukrainische Grenze aufgebrochen, um dort die Hilfsgüter an die Organisation Forest Com zu übergeben. Die Übergabe fand am 11.03. statt. Wir danken allen, die uns unterstützt haben und diesen Transport möglich gemacht haben!
